"It must be known that I never set out to copy a particular style or follow a set of guidelines. However, as a chemist and inventor (holding six patents); that approach runs deep against my grain. Vance Vulture Ales are created to capture the characteristics and taste that I like in a beer, just as simple as that. I want to be distinctive and craft by my own rules and to my own standards. I started brewing using an all-grain technique and fabricated most of my own equipment like a vulture, scavenging broken engines and scrapyards to build my workshop. The mashing chemistry and fermentation microbiology played well into my background in water chemistry, the prime component and contributor of significant character to my finished product. Thus, when I set out to deliver, I combine ingredients and processes according to fundamental principles to yield my own creation.
